The Story of The Jersey Guy LLC

Where it all began (1989)
The Jersey Guy story started in 1989 when I discovered screen printing. That first experience sparked my lifelong passion for clothing design and custom apparel. I pursued my art at a design school in Arizona, where I combined creativity with my love of sports. Whether it was volleyball, baseball, or any athletic activity, I lived and breathed sports—and design became my way of connecting to it.

A lifestyle built on creativity and sports
After graduating, I returned to Ventura, California. For over a year, I lived in my VW bus—surfing, sketching, and developing designs. That free-spirited time shaped the foundation of what would later become The Jersey Guy. Eventually, I settled in Santa Clarita, continued lifeguarding, raised a family, and stayed active with cycling, racing, and sports of all kinds. My art was always there—woven into everything I did.

The first custom jerseys for niche sports
Racing downhill mountain bikes led me to design jerseys for myself and friends. Those jerseys took off, and soon I was creating custom team jerseys for other riders. At the same time, I was building cornhole boards on the side. When cornhole tournaments started to grow, I noticed something: nobody was making dedicated cornhole jerseys. Players wore old football or baseball jerseys because there weren’t any options. That’s when I designed the first matching cornhole jerseys. Showing up at events in those designs made a statement—and The Jersey Guy LLC was born.

Growing with the cornhole community
Word spread quickly. Soon, I was designing custom cornhole jerseys for ACO, ACL, and leagues across the country. I collaborated with leading bag makers and created custom designs for players coast to coast. My jerseys gained attention not just in the U.S. but internationally—players from Germany and beyond loved the fit, cut, and style. What started as a hobby turned into a movement in custom sports apparel.

Why USA-made matters
From the beginning, I committed to keeping production right here in the USA. While many competitors outsource overseas for cheaper margins, The Jersey Guy is proud to be 100% American-made. Every jersey is designed, cut, and sewn in the U.S. by U.S. workers. That means better quality, a perfect fit, and customer service you can actually count on. When you order from The Jersey Guy, you’re not just buying a jersey—you’re supporting a true American small business.

What makes The Jersey Guy different
Many brands today are just logos printed on imported products. The Jersey Guy is different because I personally oversee every part of the process—from design to production to final fit. Our jerseys are built for comfort, creativity, and performance, whether you’re playing cornhole, darts, disc golf, baseball, softball, or any niche sport that deserves high-quality apparel.
